AQL 39TM - BOILER SYSTEM DISPERSANT AND ON-LINE DESCALER

Benefits: AQL 39 is a steam boiler dispersant and on-line descaler specifically formulated to prevent the buildup of scale and calcium carbonate on heat transfer surfaces.  AQL 39 is designed for use as a sludge conditioner and iron dispersant during blow down.  When used in the maintenance of boiler systems it will prevent solids buildup and provide a more efficient heat transfer.

When used as a long-term on-line descaler, AQL 39:

Slowly breaks up and dissolve scale.
Prevents scale formation.
Eliminates having to handle hazardous acid-based products.
Eliminates downtime.

DESCRIPTION:  AQL 39 is a liquid blend of sodium polyacrylate polymer. This product is a supplemental polymeric additive for use in boiler treatment programs.
Ingredients contained in AQL 39 are in accordance with Title 21, Section 173.310, of the Code of Federal Regulations for boiler water additives that may be safely used in the preparation of steam that will contact food.

APPLICATION: AQL 39 has application in steam boilers in the low-and medium pressure ranges.  It is recommended for use as a polymeric dispersant in phosphate treatment programs.  This product contains polymers that will disperse and condition sludge for easy removal through the blow down.  The supplemental use of AQL 39 in steam boilers will provide cleaner heat transfer surfaces for more efficient boiler operation.

PRODUCT DOSAGE: The initial dosage of AQL 39 is 1.0 gallon for each 1000 gallons of water in the boiler.  Maintain the treatment level in the boiler water by feeding 1.0 gallon for each 1000 gallons of blow down.  If used as an on-line descaler, the product dosage may vary up to 6 gallons per 1000 gallons of capacity.  On-line descaling may take 12 months or longer.

NOTE: AQL 39 does not work on silica.  Scale thicker than 1/4inch may require an acid descaler. AQL 39 works with the system to descale over a period of months and is not an acid cleaning process.  Surfaces not submerged in water may take over 12 months for scale removal.  Use this product along with a scale and corrosion program.

METHOD OF FEED: Feed AQL 39 to the feed water storage tank, condensate receiver, or feed water line.  This product can be mixed with other boiler water treatments in a chemical feed solution.

SYSTEM OPEATING PARAMETERS:
Follow the same parameters as outlined for Phosphate treatment programs.

PRODUCT CONTROL PARAMETERS:
Treatment residuals for AQL 39 cannot be tested conveniently.  Feed this product in Proportion to the phosphate treatment and use the phosphate residuals as the control parameters.

CAUTION
CAUSES SKIN AND EYE IRRITAION MAY CAUSE IRRITATION IF INHALED MAY BE HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED
Contains Sodium Polyacrylate. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.  Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles, neoprene gloves and protective clothing when handling. Wash thoroughly after handling.  Keep the container closed when not in use.  Avoid breathing the mist.  Use sufficient ventilation to prevent a buildup of mist.

FIRST AID:
FOR SKIN CONTACT: Wash affected areas with large amounts of running water, and soap if available, for 15 minutes.  Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.  Get medical attention.  Wash clothing and decontaminate shoes before use.

FOR EYE CONTACT: Immediate rinse the eyes with water.  Remove any contact lenses and continue flushing with running water for 15 minutes.  Hold the eyelids apart to ensure rinsing of the entire surface of the eyes with water. Get immediate medical attention.

IF INHALED: Remove from the area to fresh air.  Seek medical attention if respiratory irritation develops, or if breathing becomes difficult.

IF SWALLOWED: Give 3 to 4 glasses of water, but DO NOT induce vomiting.  Get medical attention to determine whether vomiting or evacuation of the stomach is necessary. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person.
