HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION:

Acute – Swallowed (Short term exposure):
Skin contact: Causes irritation seen as redness and itching.  Eye contact: Cause irritation seen as tearing and redness.  Ingestion: Causes irritation with possible nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.  Large amounts may cause methemoglobinemia causing cyanosis; blueing of skin, headache, flushed face, light-headeness, ataxia (in coordination).  Weakness, rapid heartbeat, labored breathing, mental confusion, blurred vision, reduced blood pressure, collapse, coma and possible death. Inhalation: Causes respiratory irritation seen as coughing and sneezing. Inhalation of large amounts can cause systemic effects similar to those caused by ingestion.

Chronic (Long term exposure) :
Mixture with secondary amines may cause the formation of nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic compounds. Target organs:  Liver, Kidneys, spleen, testes, circulatory system conditions aggravated by exposure: Pre-existing diseases of the skin, respiratory and cardiovascular system.

First Aid
Inhalation:
Remove from the area to fresh air.  Seek medical attention if respiratory irritation develops or if breathing becomes difficult.
 
Eye:
Immediately rinse the eyes with water. Remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes.  Hold the eyelids apart to ensure. Rinsing of the entire surface of the eyes and lids with water.
Get medical attention if irritation persists.
 
Skin:
Wash affected area with large amounts of soap and water for 15 minutes.  Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.  Get medical attention if irritation persists.  Wash clothing and clean shoes before reuse.

Ingestion:

Give 3 to 4 glasses of water, but do not induce vomiting.  If vomiting occurs, give fluids again.  Seek medical attention if discomfort occurs..

Notes to Physician
Its no specific antidote.  Treat the patient symptomatically.

Swallowed:

Do not induce vomiting.  Give large quantities of water.  Seek medical help.
